More Than a Celebration: Building a Bridge of Partnership Between Kyiv and Kherson Region

Around 50 children from the Kherson region and Kyiv’s Solomianskyi District took part in a joint event hosted by the Solomianskyi District State Administration of Kyiv.

The programme included a children’s film screening, activities led by professional entertainers, popcorn, and candyfloss. The event created a safe and welcoming environment where children could socialise, relax, and share positive experiences together, something especially meaningful for children from families affected by the war in the Kherson region.

At the same time, the event served not only as a children’s programme but also as a platform for strengthening cooperation between communities. During the gathering, the leadership of the Solomianskyi District State Administration and representatives of the Kakhovka administration discussed potential areas for future cooperation and continued support for residents of the Kherson region.

Drawing on its well-established partnerships with both administrations, the I HELP Charitable Foundation helped create a space for constructive dialogue. For our Foundation, it is important not only to organise individual events but also to bring people together around long-term solutions that strengthen communities.

We sincerely thank the Solomianskyi District State Administration for its warm hospitality, for providing the venue, and for its openness to cooperation. We are also grateful to the Department of Education and the Centre for Children’s and Youth Creativity for engaging professional entertainers, and to the Department of Youth and Sports together with the Lybid District Association of Youth Clubs for their organisational and administrative support.

It is through this kind of collaboration between local authorities, specialised public institutions, and civil society organisations that we are able to support children, strengthen ties between communities, and build a solid foundation for future joint initiatives.
